Picture from the Devil's Hole Rapids and the Niagara Glen, which is along the Niagara River, just downstream from the Whirlpool.  The huge boulders that litter the forest, fell from the side of the Niagara escarpment down into the Niagara gorge.  Hiking along the rivers edge will bring you to the Devil's Hole Rapids.  Looking across the river to the other side, you'll see people hiking along the trails on the US side.
